I am a canadian artist living in Nanamio bc, on the salish sea. For as long as I can remember, drawing and painting came naturally to me. I paint what inspires me and what brings joy to others. During covid taught me to be more resourceful. One couldn't just run out and buy paint supplies, due to lock down. I started to recycle my old paint palettes and came up with a new ways of creating designs. Rather than myself directing the paint, I allow the paint to direct me creating original abstract paintings and designs.
My mediums consist of acrylics , oils charcoals, graphite. and inks. Also coloured paper, pencils and pastels to create mixed media collage. I ues gesso and molding paste for textures.
My inspirations comes from many different avenues. Traveling I pack my mini sketch book and watercolour set with me. I always have my camera on the ready. I love to paint bright white light of some areas of the world, and the black light of the westcoast. Getting candied photos of people is great fun. They turn into paintings down the road. Life drawing captures the essence of the person in that moment of time.,which I find so satisfying. It also keeps me up on my human anatomy.
